Unsettled Rambling

No, I'm not dead. But I am hesitant to share this post. Generally, I like to keep things upbeat, but it seems that I have been in a bit of a rut. However, seeing as this may be my last weekend before I become an attorney, I think it would be missed opportunity if I didn't record my state of mind.

Lately, things have been pretty uneventful. I'm a little drained from an unsettling feeling of transition and uncertainty. In a little less than a week, I will know if I have to start studying again or if I have to order new business cards. I'll know if I need to find a new place in San Francisco, or ride it out in San Diego for a while longer. At the moment, it seems that the negative drawbacks of either outcome has been weighing heavily on my mind. On the one hand, I'd hate to study for the Bar all over again, but on the other hand, the social introduction as an attorney only invites  a plethora of requests for free legal advice, which is sticky business. Additionally,  I've been making the transition from school life to working life. And, not that I'm complaining, but it's sort of draining on morale. Obviously, when the workplace is unhappy, it carries over into other aspects of life.

As a self proclaimed planner, the uncertainty is uncomfortable to say the least. Additionally, like they say in the safety talk before any flight, I'm at my best for helping others, when I have already helped myself. So I don't exactly feel social given my low energy state.

This weekend, I tried to throw myself out of this rut. It's been a month since I've blogged, a month since I've picked up my camera, and a month since I've baked. I think three days out of the daily grind has helped to get the momentum rolling. Hopefully I can ride it out through Black Friday next week.

Yes, but only when it's favorable! Just waiting on Jeff to finish his dissertation now. Boy it feels better to get all that pressure off my shoulders!
