Night Time Gardner II

Since I've been away, my Summery Oasis turned into an overgrown jungle. To be fair, I really didn't think anything would grow past sprouting leaves, let alone get to flowering.

So I rearranged the shelves, pruned the plants, tied up all the loose branches, and repotted plants into different containers like botanical musical chairs.

Snow Peas are awesome to grow. If your a beginner like me, this is an easy plant to start with. In fact, one of my pots fell off the top shelf three floors into the bushes below. I was able to save it, and it quickly started blooming, like the next day.

Basil and parsley

My zucchinis are also survivors. I repotted them into the tomato pot, I might actually get a zucchini. Fingers crossed.

Here are the tomatoes after pruning. See the top right for the before photo.
A tomato flower!

I also repotted the sweet peppers and strawberries.
(There were snow peas in the middle, it was out of control.)

After:

I here are the strawberries after their second transplant, before their third. The final spot for them is a long rectangular pot. (I just don't have a good picture.)

Update: first strawberry blossom spotted this morning as I was watering the plants before class!

Where the shelf use to be (see top left for before photo)

My zinnias are really resilient when they look wilty, and dead, I water them, then they perk up like it was nothing about half an hour later.

Here's the finished layout:
Hopefully, the low shelves will keep plants from falling off the balcony.
